beleive it or not, there is no return line for the N/A pt fuel system, not sure about the lite or GT. The fuel pressure is kept at a constant 58psi by a spring type regulator. When i did my turbo install i had to bend up a return line to fit the contour of the floorpan and put in a high volume pump in place of the stock unit. The upgraded pump is quite a bit louder than stock.
If you turn the ignition to ON without starting the PT the pump will cycle on for about one second. A noisy pump does not necessarily mean a failure is on the way, but keep an ear out in case it gets louder.
