Default New kid in town

I saw an 04 Inferno Red GT going south on the 5 freeway in Santa Ana/Tustin this morning. It still had a paper dealer plate so it was newwwwww! I wonder how long it will take this one to find the FORUMS and start his/her (I didn't see the driver) mods. Don't all GT's get mods, isn't that what they're for?? [8)]

Welcome out there!

Yeah, my PT GT is about 1.5 months old (4500 miles) and look at all the mods I have now, which 90% were installed yesterday. I still have some on hand that I need to install.

Eddie, I've watched you go around the forums like mods will be illegal by the end of the month! I'll bet your having fun too, I know I did. BTW, I've asked some people here how the sun roof deflector is working out and gotten no replies. Does your's do a good job? I was thinking of getting one but the one I have on my Explorer makes the wind noise even worse.

I just tried it for the first time today. If you're looking to put one on to deflect the wind when you have the sunroof open, it does deflecting most of the wind. There is still some that goes in but not enough to create a lot of wind noise or to bother you. I might actually remove it, but I'll give it a few more days before doing so. I thought I didn't like the wind coming in from the sun roof, but now I realize that I do like it. Also, the one I have seems a bit big. I'm not sure, maybe I just haven't gotten used to it. I'll evaluate it a little more to let you know.

BTW, is there a AMA (Automotive Modders Anonymous) I can go to?

I said I would not modify my GT, so I settled in modfying my GT and buying a daily beater. Problem solved!

I love my sunroof deflector - got the Benevento with no glue. It is nasty to put on - I'll share my tricks if you get one - but I'm very happy with it. Best is when there's light rain - you can have sunroof cracked and not get wet - just watch out when you brake [:0]
Also great when parking in the summer - can leave it open a bit. [?]

Yeah, I have the same ones. YES, THEY ARE A #$!%## TO PUT IN! I think the best way to put it on is to position the clips and then tape them with scotch tape so they hold in place. Therefore, you can work on aligning and tightening the screws. I thought about doing it, but I was impatient at the time, so I tried doing it without the tape. It took awhile, but I finally got it on.

BTW, I drove with it some more on the highway, it's not that bad either. Just keep in mind, DO NOT tighten the screws too much. When I did, the wind made it vibrate when I hit above 40 MPH. It was loud and annoying. At first, I thought it was my new Borla Duals I put it, but later realized it was the deflector.

The only thing is, there seems to be a little more wind noise with them on. I will try it some more the next few days then remove it to see if I can tell the difference.

EDIT: Next mod is to get Window module for my car alarm. I took my dog out this morning and I was admiring the chrome door spears I just put on last night and looked at the windows thinking to myself "Damn! They're so clear you can see right through them". Well, after looking at them closer, I realized the windows (driver side and passenger side) were open and it was raining. [V] Fortunately, it was raining very light and it just started about an hour ago. Hopefully I didn't ruin my leather seats. At least with the window module, once the car arms itself, the windows will go up automatically. Unfortunately, I'll need 1 to control the front windows, 1 to control the rear, & another for the sunroof.
