No one said it would be easy, but since I started the Chicagoland Cruiser Club and went from one car to 38, I'm starting to see the work involved. We have officers, business agenda's/ social events and other important topics to cover. Last night we had an officers meeting and went over topics to be discussed at next weeks meeting. One thing I see at our meeting is the challange to keep order in the group. Organization is key. People also have different ideas on what a club should be. One person may like to go to shows, another person would rather do dinners. One thing for sure, its more work as we grow. One thing I want to do is plan some national events with our group. I think my obcession with this car is catching on without the group, the word MODS, has been a popular conversation. Its a great group, so the work is worth it. Hope to be 100 cars strong in 2006! Gary

Gary,
I'm in 2 PT Cruiser clubs(used to belong to 3). One club is relatively new www.Naturecoastptcruisers.com with 14 members, the other www.PT-Cruiser.org has been around awhile with 229 members. Both clubs are joined by the web site. No president or officers, no dues and no special place to meet. Everyone in both clubs finds out where things are happening thru the web sites. The people that organize and run the sites lists all the places where people can meet and lists all the upcoming car shows. We can sign up to be there, or just show up when the time comes. It works pretty well. |
