Thanks to all of you!!!

I've decided to go ahead and let them do the Brake flush & the Radiator flush.

Especially since the brakes are the most important part on a car.

But I'll hold off on the power steering flush & transmission flush until I get another opinion, or until 48,000 miles when it's required.

Thanks!

Wait up there. Your brake fluid at 36,000 miles is still good unless it is eaxtemely discolored for some reason. Look at it first. I do my own and I won't be doing my 03 GT until I hit AT LEAST 50,000 miles. Even then I will inspect it first. As stated above, it is a sealed system and unless you have had some kind of problem, leave it alone.

IMHO, more important when it comes to regualar maintenance is the trans fluid. Trans fluid will break down fairly quickly and the rate of breakdown increases exponentially with any additional heating of the fluid. If your car has ever run hot for any reason in other words. Transmissions are VERY expensive to rebuild. At 36,000 I would service the trans. But go to a good trans shop. It sounds like the place you went is a rip off.

The rad flush is not a bad idea, but again, I wouldn't trust that shop...RUN!

Maybe burnt transmission fluid is the price for using the autostick.[8)] (badly)

Someone please explain to me why a radiator flush is needed. It's a sealed system. Does scaling still occur with the new coolants? I feel the "old" water in the mix is better than fresh, because it's had most of the air driven out of it.
MY OPINION.[:I]
Don

The coolant breaks down over time and needs to be replaced. if you don't think so check the overflow tank and you will notice crud starts to form around the bottom of the tank.

Have to agree with bigtommy I have never seen brake fulid flushed unless there is a leak. The only way for moisture to get into the system is a leak or someone removes the filler cap way too often
