Are you sure its not the oil light?
You said its orange in color, correct?
I have not seen this light come on in my PT before.

Check your users manual that came with the PT is usually will tell all the lights that may come on and there locations withing a diagram. Use the index if you have too.

Not near my car now, but orange lights aren't good - look in your owner's manual for warning lights and see what it says for the light you see.
The bucking doesn't sound good, either. Is yours automatic or manual shift? Could be clutch isn't fully releasing or isn't in neutral if it's a manual, or malfunction of auto. What about after it starts? Does car "creep" forward more than it used to? Any driveability problems?

Have to agree with Colby about maybe being the OIL light...but mine is red and it's near the top of the guage. [:I] That's the only little picture with dripping water (actually an oil can with a single drip).

If it's oil is low enough for that light to come on, don't drive it until you manually check the level.

My wife has the PT at the moment so I can't check the manual but according to the Shop Manual, these are the warning lights on the instruments (including the export models):

² Airbag
² Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) if equipped
² Brake Warning
² Charging System
² Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) (1.6L only)
² Engine Temperature
² Front Fog Lamps (if equipped) (green)
² High Beam (blue)
² Liftgate Ajar (orange)
² Low Fuel (orange)
² Low Oil Pressure
² Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (Service
Engine Soon)
² Rear Fog Lamps (Export)
² Seat Belt Warning
² Security System
² Trac-Off (if equipped)
² Wait To Start (Diesel Export Only)
The instrument cluster has a Vacuum Fluorescent
(VF) display for the following systems:
² Cruise
² Door (ajar)
² Odometer
² Trac (if equipped)
² Trip
² PRNDL (Autostick Only)

If you turn the key on but not to start, and then off again three times, the odometer will change to a code.

If it happens again, just post that code to figure out the problem.
