I think the owners manual has some tips on this. I think there is some kinda relay (ASD maybe?) you should disconnect to keep your battery from discharging [:I]
Man, I'd nuts not driving my PT for that long

hi stirfry,
i live in ne ohio, where they use a lot of SALT on the roads. as i plan to keep this baby for a long time, i want minimize any cahnce of rust that is under my control. fortunately, we have another car to drive as our main source of transportation. the PT is my toy and i treat her that way! so she is a fairweather vehicle. i am sure it would handle snowy roads and what not just fine, as would most fwd vehicles.

I couldn't store my PT away for the winter even if I wanted to. But don't worry about winter handling, PT's are great in the snow, especially if you have traction control. Last winter, the highways were plowed but the snow was coming down so fast that a half hour later the highways were bad again. Everyone was doing 30-35 on the highway, while I was cruising along at 50!

Can't imagine storing the PT. They are great in winter...I have the good fortune of having 2...the turbo with traction for the snow, and the '01 TE, full Xenon ground for the non-snow. I'd be depressed all winter if I couldn't play with my toys.

Cruise safe, and often.

stirfry, many people, who have the liberty, put their favorite cars away during winter season. The PT's are decent cars in the snow, but those who have the option, do not want to expose their cars through road salts or maybe even getting into an accident in the snow. I love my PT, but unfortunatley, I do not have the option of driving another car for the winter, so I must subject my PT throught the stress of winter. Besides, my '89 Toyota Supra Turbo (Targa Top) has the prime spot in the garage during winter.
