Default Safety Recall

Not sure if this is a old problem already fixed or something new to the forum. Just received recall for "Power steering pressure hose my contact the transaxle differential cover on 2001-2004 which may cause fire".
Would that be on top where you see the fuel line? or down under by trany? Any one have pic's of, or heard of the problem before. I'm taking it in next week anyway just curious about insight on the matter.[:I]

The recall has been known for quite some time but Chrysler was a bit slow in sending out notifications. Applies to all 2001-2004 non-turbo w/auto tranny Cruisers. When I hear "fire" I take it seriously.

Still haven't received the one on the wifes Cruiser.Checked
the line everytime I change the oil.Seems like something would have to hit it ,it's held away by two brackets.

Got my notification Monday (11/8), called Tuesday, can't get in until Monday 11/29/04 [xx(]!!! As a retired firefighter I have seen my share of car fires, most of them were "PR" fires, show up, spray water on a " Burnt-out HULK". Not much more that you can do.

Please take this recall seriously! My 2001 PT burned up this way on memorial day weekend! If you want more details about what happened, it's on my site.

Dealer won't do anything until paperwork comes. When this was first brought up several months ago.Tried to get it in,but there was no paper work on it.So all I can do is wait till it comes.

This is true. My dealer made me wait until I got the letter from Chrysler. Taking it in on Wednesday.

I also checked mine today while changing the oil and found one of
the bracket bolts loose. And this was after the recall had already
been done.[:I]
