Default Interesting.....

I just noticed that the PT is the first car I have owned that the speedometer works in reverse.
Not sure if it is accurate or not but it does work.

It's not cable driven, The speed sensor is a small switch which sends electrical pulses and the switch doesn't care if you are going forward or backward, it sends the same pulses. The speedometer always interprets the pulses as forward motion for obvious reasons. Also, this way you can't turn back the odometer.

I never really noticed. Maybe it's becuase I'm always looking behind me when I'm going in reverse and never paid attention to the speedometer.

Does that mean the odomeater rolls backward when you go reverse? You know, like in the movie Farris Bulers day off.[8D]
