You are lucky. Own 2005 Turbo, more than 5 leaks in two years. Now 6,000 klms over warranty and it happened again. Same hose, lousy repairs. Dam near hit a pedestrian once because of slowing down and realizing I did not have power assist. Tough when you're not prepared. I believe the pt has a major safety problem here. Waiting for a response from Chrysler. Think about it 6 leaks, same hose, but now leaking by pump. Good luck. Wish more people would post. Racks are expensive. Faulty steerings are no joke.

Cool Re: Power Steering Fluid

SEEMS TO ME.......
That if it were a design flaw, it would getting reported by everybody.
Since that's not the case, it's more than likely a lemon part, like the pump, or a return pressure restriction somewhere.

Hi Jmack,
I have the same noise. It sounds like a Hummmm noise and only happens at a stop on pavement. I was told by the dealer it is normal on some PT's and is because they lowered the RPS to get max fuel economy, thus giving it a little gas in neutral it will go away when you turn the wheel. I always have dealer document everything on paper and give me a copy, but my dealer usually offers, if it is a problem not covered by Chrysler, to fix it free since I give them most of my business.

P.S. The dealer even replaced the PS Pump to try to correct this issue, but no luck, so it probably is normal in my opinion!
