Six months ago we added the Whipple Supercharger to my wife's 2001 LE. The car only had 7200 miles on it, pampered, like new, she dosen't drive it if it rains. You cannot believe difference in performance, my wife now picks on Cameros, Mustangs, and hot pickups here in Picayune, Ms. It will ruin your whole day to have your new Mustang waxed at the Interstate on ramp up to 95 mph in front of your friends by a 57 year old grandmother in a PT Cruiser. This car performs.
We also added Borla Duals, had it two toned Black over Bright Silver, replaced the bumpers with Dream Cruiser body colored bumpers, it already had the Mopar ground effects kit and Dream Cruiser 5 spoke polished wheels. (won a plaque at the "Save Hooter Car Show")
The best price I found was at "Superchargers 4 Less" (superchargers4less.com or mike@lakebistineau.com)quite a bit less than list price, and they have installers around the country. I was very pleased with the installation,it looks like factory installed. I had to add some chrome goodies to the engine compartment to compliment it.
As with you, we plan to keep the car indifinely because my wife loves it and IT IS SO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE!
The down side, it costs $4000plus, and uses premium gas, and the milage goes to he--, because you put your foot in it BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH FUN! But I haven't had a car that is FUN TO DRIVE since 1957.
I used to call her "Jane",(as in Plain), we renamed her "G.I.Jane".
