Default Turbo Kits

Hey all. I really want to add a super charger to my PT. Any one better than the other, and does anyone know of where to get one for a good price? Please let me know.... I need more speed. But will not trade my PT...way to customized. Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks.

From my limited knowledge of this topic the concensus seems to be the Hahn turbo is the best bang for the buck. Be prepared for motor upgrades if you want to go above 10# boost. Do a search on Bob Stockum posts for the rest of the story.

You have three options:

-Hahn turbou with stage 2 from PT Cruiser Parts.com http://www.autotrucktoys.com/ptcruis...ategory_ID=668
or straight from Hahn for about 500 bucks cheaper. http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/pt/pt.htm http://www.hahnracecraft.com/hahn/parts/parts.htm

-Whipple super charger from ptcruiserparts.com http://www.autotrucktoys.com/ptcruis...tegory_ID=1324
and PT Tuning.com http://www.pt-tuning.com/performance...r_Whipple.html

-Jackson racing super charger from Crusierbits.com http://www.cruiserbits.com/Shop/View...eIndexID=43966

There is a 4th option.

Have you considered getting a GT or Turbo lite?

Just an idea.

BigPhil"[quote/] arthur you gots to read, man

Put the hahn turbo on this summer just a simple stage one kit with larger injectors, will be adding a GT intercooler soon. thats the beauty of the turbo over the s/c the turbo wont shred your auto tranny as bad as a s/c plus you can increase the power in steps, with a s/c you put it on and your at a performance plateau.

I love my Hahn Stage 2 as well! I am slowly adding more to help performance. Still at about 6lbs of boost and can't imagine what 10lbs will feel like. There are no regrets here.[8)]

I love my Hahn 2+ stage kit 12-13 lbs boost,Stockum mtr,Crane ing,Conquest intercooler and a ton of other goodies.I have had my car as high as 17-18 lbs it is one scarry ride at those boost levels to much wheel spin and torque steer.Go turbo it is a builders system that you can add to a little at a time. I have over 10,000 miles on my upgrade and love it.[8)]

I wouldn't trade my Hahn powered PT for a new GT. Couldn't afford it for one thing. A friend just installed the new Jackson Racing SC & is very satisfied with it. Not as much HP as a turbo but is much easier to instal. Hahn stage 1 has about the same HP (actually a bit more) but is not a job for the average backyard mechanic). The S1 Hahn installed is about the same $ as the JR kit in the box.
