Default Haze headlamp lens

Has anyone out they had trouble with a haze building up on the plastic headlight lens. looks terrible, and don't know how to get ride of it. Someone told me brake fluid but that didn't work. Is that something the dealer would take care of since I'm still under warrenntee. Would buffing it out work?[:I]

I use Rain-X on my windshield and the plastic headlight lens as well. It keeps it easy to clean from dead bugs.

It's on the outside but around the top edge so it even looks like it's on the inside like moisture but it's not. I'll post a pic of it towmarrow maybe someone has seen this problem before.

Haven't had it on PT, but on other cars with the plastic headlight covers, I've use clay bar and it helps. Keep it moist, and keep rubbing.

I used to own a 1 gen. Neon with the same problem. MeguiarÂ’s makes a plastic cleanig product that works pretty good.

Here is what there website says about the product...

"PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish is an easy-to-use, rich gel formula that quickly restores optical clarity to both rigid and flexible clear plastics. Cutting-edge advancements in MeguiarÂ’s exclusive Microscopic Diminishing Abrasive Technology (MDAT) removes light oxidation, chemical degradation, surface contamination, stains and light surface scratches with ease. Special highly water resistant polymers provide long lasting durable protection to keep your clear plastics clear and beautiful longer"

Flitz it!

Have you seen that ad on TV about restoring everything from aluminum to plastic headlights? Who knows if it works but I just remember seeing it.

3M makes a plastic polish you can use, should take care of the problem. Wonder what's causing it?
