Default Fog lights won't turn on

And it's not only the fog lights but the fog light indicator in the dashboard. That's also not working.

I called my dealer and they told me they'd look at it but they warned me that light bulbs are only covered during the first year or 12K miles. Mine has 14K. They said that was specified in the owner's manual.

Is that true or are they full of crap?

They are correct. Try another bulb but if the indicator on the dash isn't working sounds like a multifunction switch. Alittle pricey for the part but a snap to install a new one.

Check the fuse first.

If the problem is the multifunction switch or a fuse, that should be covered under the warranty right? Or would they charge me for either of them?

Your fuse won't be covered, but the stalk surely will if your warranty is still good for milage and time. Check the fuse yourself by looking at the panel by your left knee. The Fog Light fuse is #8 and I think it's 15amp.

I doubt it would be both bulbs - one should light. If it isn't the fuse, then it's the switch. [:I]

Mine is doing the same thing right now. I thought that maybe since mine are aftermarket dealer installed that was the problem. I see that someone else is having the same problem. Dealer wants to keep my car for the whole day to work on it. My lights sometimes come on but go out within ten minutes. Other times they don't work at all. As you said when they don't work the indicator light on the dash does not work either. If you get yours fix before me let me know what they find.

Big Slim;

The fog lights of my 02 limited were sitting on, even though the switch was off, I had someone stand in front of the car and I just touched the switch a little(on the very end where the fog light switch is), and they blinked. It was the multi-function switch, and it is covered under warrenty.

I've heard and read of many PT's with this problem, one guy in our club even had the wiring harness on the column start to burn and melt. Even though the dealer told him he needed a new or used wiring harness AND a multi-function switch, he (the dealer) doesn't know what caused the wires burning.

Good luck!
