Default Auto-Crossing a Cruiser, and strut Braces

Anybody done this before?? I was thinking about it, there is a event here in April that I might go to, too far ahead though to make plans just yet.

Also, I saw a Strut-Tower brace for a Cruiser at Advance Auto-PArts for $30 or $40. Does anybody have on of these, and does it make any kind of a difference?? Chances are I'm going to get it, but still want to know. I figure since my car is so slow in the straights I might as well make it carry what little speed it can muster in the corners (Yeah, I'm sure I could add a Turbo and what not to it, but I'm going to dish out that kind of money)

Dude, if the strut bar looks anything like the Freedom design one, then I would go for it.

Have heard of local autocrosses in the area, haven't gone, but know a club buddy that has run his car one the track for fun.

I'm sure it doesn't look like it, it's just very plain looking. I don't mind though, I don't show off the car or anything (got another for that and all) but I do want the outside to look a bit unique and nice. But as far as under the hood goes; I could careless

That's a heck of a price. I'm going to check that out. I will be doing one of them, but try not to expect too much. The nuts can only be torqued to 15-20 ft. lbs. This won't make it an Elise, cause it can only hold stuff steady so much...

ya have to see what brand it is......

I picked up a less expensive one from
procarparts.com......which is probably
the same one advanced has.....

I've had no problems with mine....and
it works great.....

From my experience, you get what you pay for. For $40 I don't think you would be happy with this "light-weight" strut brace as it most likely will flex too much to do any good. Just my two cents. Good luck. [8]

It's just a big metal bar... And as far as picutres go, you bet I'll get some!! However, the event isn't till April, so it's too sonn to make a definite call. Will probally get the Brace Friday after my pay-check comes in, I have the money now, but don't like to run too low...

That's a great price - sure it's made for the PT? If so, go for it. It'll "tighten up" your steering, take out slop you don't know you have now.[|)]
