As many of you know, I have had the case of the Haunted PT for a couple of days. I haven't been happy. First of all I read all the stories about the RKE and the switches. Well I regretfully placed a call for the car to be inspected. It was doing all the usual. It kept locking and unlocking. It was driving me crazy. Finally tonight while at a friends house, I said, "im so much smarter than this." so I started doing some thinking. "If it is the switch that is faulty, I should be able to figure this out." Here is what I found out.
1. The passenger side lock switch is bad. Sometimes it would work, other times it wouldn't. I took both the door panels off, and installed the driver side switch in the passenger site. NO MORE CLICKING AND UNLOCKING!!! I now have the fault switch sitting here on my desk. I have to say, that without the guides and information I have read on here, I never would have had the info or the courage to go in here and learn how to take the door panels and stuff off. OK, sorry so long, but a question: 1. Where can I locate a new switch without it costing me an arm and a leg? any websites? Thanks again you guys, and I hope someone can help me with this search. I have tried ebay but found nothing. |

I'd first price it from dealer. It'll cost more than it's worth, but still might not be too bad. If you feel it's too exorbitant, try a salvage yard (sounds better than junkyard) - call them first to see if they have any PTs and what they'd want for switch.
