Is this possible? My friends 2003 Maxima does this. It would come invaluable to a person like me.

Don't have time to do a search right now but I know that aftermarket alarm systems can do that. I believe that some also have a rain sensor and would close open windows.

It is possible, but the "auto up" feature seen in many new cars is NOT as easy as the "auto down" feature. This is because the auto up feature on those cars has a sophisticated 'pinch control' unit to sense resistance & then reverse direction to prevent kiddies' hands from getting caught in the window. What you're discussing is a simple 'open circuitry' that will go up, come hell or high water with the real possibility of an inadvertent squishing of somebody/thing in it. That's why most car companies don't have the auto-up feature in all their cars, because it is far costlier than the auto down feature.

Not only do they have a sensor, but the motor has a switch and there is a module. The switch indicates speed and position, the module learns how fast is normal, where the window is, reverses in case the window encounters an object, and shuts off power when the window is fully up. Many need a relearn when the battery is disconnected. So, to add this feature, you would have to replace the motor, install a module (switch box in most, a separate door module in others) and make sure the window movement tension and range of motion are very close. Then there is wiring the switches in each door, since our beloved PTs have a different switch arrangement, and fitting them in the door panels. LOTS of work.

Wow, I stand corrected. I would be a bit leary of a $14-25 module, but for that price, if it lasts a few years and doesn't hurt anything, great.
