I just switched to Allstate after being a State Farm customer for over 10 years. Much better prices and better discounts and programs for safe dirvers. I have home insurance and full coverage on my PT (including ALL of my cusom mods) and only pay $107 a month. Pretty dang happy so far.....and each year you are with them with no accidents, your deductible drops $100.....nice.....

Who do you buy your car insurance from?

Who's good? Who's cheap?

Any suggestions?

GEICO

My son totalled my pickup a month ago (Thank God with no damage to him).

I dreaded dealing with the insurance company -- remembering my experience with American Family a decade or so ago.

To my surpise it has been almost a pleasure. We were jus=t about to leave on vacation -- no problem delaying our free car rental till we got back. I decided the fair value on the pickup was $3000. The adjuster offered $3200. My son got an EMS bill, they said just send it to them.

Best of all -- our rates did not go up. When it was time to change the policy for the replacement car (the pt cruiser and another) they gave a quote. Progressive online was $100 cheaper (for 6 mos. ccoverage). I complained. GEICO lowered their rate.

All in all, hard to beat.

GEICO really gave a couple of on PTE a hard time, They only want people with clean driving records but if anything happens they will drop you. The worst part I heard that PTers had a great difficulty getting their car put right. They will give you a hard time over Mods.

I am in Canada and have been with Pilot Insurance for years but thought about switching to State Farm only because my former girl friends mother sold State Farm.

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOOD CO.TO GET GOOD CHEAP INSURANCE FROM,HARTFORD thur AARP.i had STATE FARM for years, switch to Hartford about about 3 years now, have cars(2) and my house.we had a big storm down here in south Louisiana,i think you read about that one in the paper and tv.well i had quite a pit of damage to my house,i was expecting a big increase in my insurance!!well it went up $50.00? the reason they said was they raised my coverage on my house from$170,to $190,000.00!!i almost fell off the chair.that was great.down here some companies won't write anymore insurance.and they paid off fast.so i say thats the way to go.

Here in Ohio, I have had Cincinatti Insurance for years and they have been very competitive with rates and excellent in service in case of a claim. I've dealt with Progressive a couple of times and found them to be fair and prompt with settlements.

gold, you couldn't be more wrong. I suggest that the PTE couple's datapoints might not have aligned right.

I had GEICO and had a front-end, minor collision, my fault. Not only did they replace everything on the other person's car, but I never had to deal with the issue. At all. I didn't even get their name. Not only did they fix my front bumper, but they sent me a letter telling me my rates would not increase. Not only did they replace it, but they said "no problem" when I asked if I could replace it with a Xenon Crusher front bumper. And they paid for it 100% And all along, the representative treated me with the best respect and care. At first I was thinking "this is too good to be true"... when it all panned out, I thought "Yes. This is what an insurance company SHOULD be like."

Try a claim with Progressive, they get lousy marks on claims.

I would suggest to anyone who has "other" insurance, give GEICO a call, since other insurance carriers are raising their rates now.
