I don't understand why you'd screw around in putting the wrong bulb in the wrong sockets. Things are made for a reason. Look in your owners manual and put the right bulb in. Everything as a designation and a wattage they should run at.
I have a 12gauge shotgun but all i have is these 9gauge bullets. You figure the bullet should come out better with less resistance in the barrel...right?
Same mentality.
Comapring light bulbs with shot seems a bit of a stretch- not many people use lightbulbs to shoot ducks!

I used the 9006 because at the time (2001), that is either what I WON or FOUND (I forget). XS's were not popular "back then". They fit, end of story.

They are also 55W low, 65W high. I use my highs maybe twice a year.

[8)]I put Street Glow high and low beams in both my 2001 and my 2005. They are 85 watt lows and 100 watt highs. They have been in the 2001 for three years now without any problems, just better light. I really wish the PTs had HID lights for both high and low. I have also added a pair of aftermarket driving lights which are really bright although illegal. I wired them so that they will only come on with the high beams and will automatically go off when I swithc to low beam. I only use them when I am on back roads in the boonies and want to see.

Good to hear that someone has used the higher powered bulbs for an extended time period without burning up their wiring. If you do a search, you will find others that haven't been that lucky. I would be extremely reluctant to put 85/100 watt bulbs in a PT that was designed for less than 2/3 of that power draw.
