Default transmission
I have a 03 Touring with an automatic, when coming to a stop it down shifts hard like the the axels are not in time with the tranny. Has anybody else had this. Thannk you Metz in ny

It's probably the transmission solenoid pack. Either that or the tranny is going south.

How many miles on it? If over 40,000 or so, a flush of tranny & fill with ATF + 5 might help. (and can't hurt)

Mine has always done that from day one. Whether that is a problem or not can't say.[:I]

i have 17000 miles on it. i am not sure if the dealer has a A tech that knows transmissions. Thanks Metz

17000?

That's what warranties are made for. Take it to another authorized dealer if you have to and insist they fix the problem.
Can you demonstrate the poblem on demand, or does it only happen some of the time? Try to videotape the problem if you can't demonstrate it.


There might be a service advisory out about this problem. If you can find it online show it to the dealer
