Default ???Clutch pedal adjustment???

Just got my car back with a new clutch and the pedal feels different. Before I didn't have to push all the way down to the floor to shift but now it feel like I have to.

Also The pedal is set higher than before which already was too high but the effective travel distance(when u press on the pedal to the point the it engage the clutch) has been reduce and I have to press down farther to get there.

got any ideas? The Haynes repair Manual was no help

The Left Hand Drive PT Cruisers have a clutch pedal adjustment screw on the shaft that connects the clutch pedal to the hydraulic cylinder under the dash. If that screw has been readjusted or become loose, the symptoms you describe would occur.

Interesting, I will have to check that out. I have always felt that my clutch pedal was too high on my 03 GT but the dealership said there was nothing they could do about it. I asked them right after I bought the car

Although there is an adjustment bolt, the cltch still must come all the way up to engage the upstop switch. This controls the cruise control.
The switch at the bottom of the travel is the starter interlock.

I think that the threaded shaft will only adjust how much "free play" or travel will be in the pedal before the cluch is disengaged. The total top to floor travel will remain the same but you can adjust where the "action" takes place.
You should be able to feel only slight resistance at first, then a bit more resistance when you actually begin to push on the lever that is moving the throwout bearing and cluch proper.
The majority of people are most comfortable with about an inch or so of free play before the cluch starts to disengage.
If I'm wrong about this, somebody correct me. That's how they used to be.

I think you are right but I want to look at it. As a rule, hydraulics aren't adjustable.
