Hey Crewzin! It's actually the new "modesty" cover for the manifold. It's a plastic cover over the intake. Myself and others noticed it on a zoomed in close up pic.

Black 2004 PT Cruiser GT with chrome accent package, chrome door spears, billet gauge eyebrows, chrome beltline, Autotechnica tail light covers painted body color, TYC by Elegente backup lights and GPS Navigation. Silver dragons on sides and hood. Stage 1! Spark plugs gapped to .040, and installed a set of Crane Firewires. BTG cold air intake, AMX1397\'s Turbo Up Charge Pipe, Boomba Racing BOV, Hallman Pro PX manual boost controller and Mean Green\'s Hyperground Solution.

Well, what do you think......Its better than nothin, like i got with the 2004...thanx to redhot pt for his cover, fits my dice and flames perfectly! now if i can just get those tribal flames on.... [)]

I've been looking at it, both in this pic and other pics, and while I must said it is very nice and clean looking, I must say I'm an old school kinda guy. I prefer the look of metal in an engine bay to the look of plastic. I really like the look of my manifold, and would love to have it polished. That is if I could find one cheaper than about $260 plus core!

That is the plastic intake manifold and not a cover. My wife and I saw it at an auto show. Chrysler is dropping the price by going cheaper.

I agree. I don't like the new plastic cover. At least from the picture, it looks "cheap"! [8] I think DC has done the same thing to the V-8 HEMI.

Really?? We saw other pictures and it looked like it had connecting tabs in the front. [:I] Wow, that really sucks then! Now you have to remove or lift up the manifold to get to the plugs, just like in the n/a engines. I can't believe they would "cheapen" up the GT when it's supposed to be the top of the model line (except for the dream cruisers). DC strikes again!
