Back door wheel well dust?

That will more-than-likely take care of the problem for you stirfry. Fresh air intake will allow air to exit the vents. On re-circulate there would be no pressure inside and allow air to be sucked in at the rear vents bringing debris along with it.

Hmmmmmm! I wipe out the door jambs every time I wash the car which is usually twice a week. No dirt here. There is always a lot of dust around the hatch gasket though. But like I said I wipe it out every time I wash.

Thanks guys!!! She was a year old last Monday. The next pics wil show the 59 cadillac tail lights and the Surf City sun visor I just ordered.

Can't be- the vents are OUTSIDE of the door seals! For the vents to work as you state, they would have to be INSIDE the seals.
