Default finally plunked down money!

Well, i finally plunked down some cash to upgrade the Cruiser. I know i'm gonna get flamed for this so i'm going to get out first. I bought a set of goodyears. I went and got the Assurance Triple Treads instead of the Michelin Hydroedge. I got a good deal from a local shop here (they matched the price on tirerack.com). I just bought the Double Platinum Champions for the PT (btw, bosch DOES make 2 sets of plugs for the PT, i found out today at AutoZone when i bought the Champion's). Looking at the Airaid Cold air intake next. Which is better...K&N or Airaid? I hear so much about K&N but the Airaid is cheaper through Revel enterprises.

airevac: I think you made a good choice with the goodyears, I've heard a lot of positive things on the assurances. As for the airaid, a few people on here have them, and like them. I personally don't care much for them, I prefer the K&N system. I have the injen air intake system, which is basically the K&N except that the pipe is aluminum and not plastic. I paid around $160 shipped. If you're interested, I can try and find the site I purchased it from.

I know that K&N is well known and well respected in the industry and they make quality products. If I had my choice i would like to have a K&N. What is the difference between having the plastic intake pipe vs. the alumminum? If you could find the site, that would be great!!

i figure the plastic insulates a little, keeping the intake air a little bit cooler

Injen's filters are made by K&N, or at least, its an exact replica with the same materials. As for aluminum -vs- plastic, I think it's just personal preference. Here is Injen's website, and a retailer selling them for about $160.

I belive the K&N is better - it replaces more of the intake - you have to move the air sensor with the K&N, but not with the Airaid, but whether the difference is worth the cost, only you can decide.[:I]
