Default Extended warrentee?

I have a 2002 warrentee runs out in Oct for the 36,000 or 3 year. I'm debaiting on weather to look into the extended warrentee plan? One consideration is how many miles without major problems can I get out of the car? I've heard a while back someone got almost 100,000 miles with no major engine or tran problems. What do you guys think? Who's clocking the most trouble free miles?

Just turned 66K here and only had the Power steering pump go bad on mine. I had an aftermarket warranty company that covered the pump before the company went out of business. [:I] Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed that nothing major happens. Plenty of PM (preventive maintenance) to help it keep going.

We got the 7-70 but since last july we've only put 2200 miles on it. It just gets washed and dusted

I'm just under 85,000 miles.
Had to replace plugs twice, wires once - did myself.
Relaced front pads, then all 4 rotors w/new pads.
Tires - replaced with Michelins - still lotsa miles to go on them.
Lost 2 2 tires, a wheel, and rear sway bar to 2 potholes.
Had trans flushed at about 50,000 miles & filled with ATF + 5.
That's it - oh, and a deer collision that cured all the paint chips....
Changed oil every 5,000 miles w/Mobil1 & K&N oil filter.

That's sound pertty good, about like normal maintenance. How many miles did the brakes hold out till? I gussing that's my next fix and then the plugs and wires.[8)]

First set of brakes I did early, as soon as light came on - replaced front pads with Raybestos ceramic - the original pads had lots of life (and dust) left.
The second at about 80,000 miles - I replaced everything, rotors and pads.
The first set of plugs & wires was around 30,000 miles - I had a slight miss that wires cured.
