PT Cruiser Depreciation?

I've been scanning some internet car sites, thinking about trading in my Red 2002 Limited for a Turbo, or Turbo-lite. What I found out was that my 2002 car is reselling for the same price a some 2003 and 2004 cars, depending on mileage. A used 2002 in my area is priced from $9000 to as much as $14000. That's what I paid for mine! This may be due to the fact that I live in a high priced area (DC/MD/VA) but I do not see the depreciation on these cars that folks complain about. I'm not complaining! I aslo think that the "New Look" 2006 model will help to keep the value on our original PT's.

How could you have paid $14,000 for an LE?? NEW?
I think there are real deals out there in the used market - mostly (I think) because new prices are being discounted.
Also, you may see ads asking for those prices, doesn't mean they'll sell for that.

I bought mine used, in 2003, with 18k miles on it. I haggled the dealer down from, I think, $15,900. Add in some cash down payment and my trade-in and I think I got a good deal. [?]

I went to www.cars.com and www.carmax.com and checked out some of their prices. There are some good deals on PT's out there, if you look.

I agree. I just bought an '03 GT with only 7,000 miles for $12,500 - gave it to my daughter, who hasn't stoppped smiling.[?]
