Default Pt brake light.

Hello there, this is new kid on the block. I am having a small problem that the dealers cannot find when they have it. I have a 2.2CRD touring 52plate with only 24k on the clock.
In the last 6 months the brake light comes on and bongs at me then goes off 5 secs later under acceleration(gentle or hard), cornering(likewise). It does it when it feels the handbrake is def off. Fell like[xx(]. Any ideas anyone. Ohh anyone know where I can get a rear factory spolier cheap. Cheers azman.

Check your brake fluid & fill, your brake pads are wearing & the reservoir on the PT is relatively small. It's kind of a warning that your going to need to do the brakes soon. [8]

If the brake fluid reservoir is below the full mark, which I suspect it is, try filling it too the full mark. The PT's are noted for having hyperactive brake fluid warning lights. If you add any brake fluid, you will need to keep a close eye on the brake pads to make sure you don't wear them down too much before your light goes on again.

If that doesn't solve the problem you probably have a faulty sensor.

Check the brake handle switch too. I haven't heard of it on PTs but on other cars, if the handle is left up a click or 2, the light can be triggered by car movement.

Sounds exactly like what I got around 25,000 miles and as PTurbed says - as pads wear, fluid level drops - not to add mark, but enough that when you accelerate the fluid sloshes and sets off low fluid light (and chime).
I just changed pads instead of adding fluid - put in ceramics and eliminated dust. The pads were only 1/2 worn, but light went out and never came back.
At 24,000 miles, I'll bet that's what it is. Have dealer top off fluid or put in new pads.

Don't know if you have a 5spd or auto. If you have a 5 spd make sure you are checking the brake reservoir and not the clutch reservoir.

Rude of me not to reply...
They're Raybestos ceramic pads. I got them from PartsAmerica.Com.
