Default invisible bra

Getting the car repainted, this time I want to protect the paint better. I am matching the bumpers to body color, and the body guy suggested that he paints the black semi-gloss, to clean up the look and be easy to repair from chips, knicks etc. Im still thinking of painting the bumpers cranberry to match the car. Is there an invisible bra out there that will protect the front end? I know of a film, and I believe I've seen a transparent bra too. I would really like to have it where you can not tell anything is there. What is the best way? What does it usually cost?

Only thing I know of is a 3M film that you can buy, but pretty well has to be professionally applied. Folks say it's great, it does get punctured after tine from stones and needs replacing. No feel for cost.

proxeyed,
My PT is getting out of the shop on Wednesday...new paint everywhere, and that is one thing I am going to do this time. I have a couple of friends who have the invisible bra that 3M makes and it is awesome! I would strongyl suggest you try it out, especially if your Cruiser is a daily driver (like mine). You probably want to have it professionally installed.....I am getting the entire front bumper done, half of the hood and some of the front fenders done and the most it should cost is around $400....much cheaper than having you front end area repainted, plus mine has cusotm paint, so doing the 3M bra is a no brainer....hope this helps.

Hi Big Phil,

could you post some pics after you have it done?

I had to put a LOT of mileage on my car when my mom passed last month and, now I've a world of nicks on my poor car. Gonna have to have it repainted, but then....

I had it installed on my 2004 silver pt...it was from xpel....there is no comparison...the invisible bra is the way to go...you dont have to worry about taking the cover type bra off in the rain and it is just about invisible on my car...
