I was mistaken. I thought the relearn should be done when the battery is disconnected, but it must be in non-volatile memory. It only needs to be done when something is done to the PCM or the tranny. It is a series of acceleration runs so the transmission and PCM can 'learn' how to shift properly. Pardon my stick-oriented brain. A technical explaination (with a buch more) is here http://www.allpar.com/fix/trans.html
Good luck on the fog lights.

Good news. I'm sure they quoted for the worst case scenario. Was the fuse in place too?

Well, it's a success! It was even easier than expected. The wiring was already in place and all I have had to do is to install the lights and and the new switch and it was perfect. I am still bewildered by the fact that the service was going to charge more than $300 for that.

Thanks for all help. [|)]
They will charge what ever they can get away with. They just want to see how long you will stay bent over and taking it before they stop. 90% of the owners out there just don't have the predispostion to get under the car and even look. They will pay the $300 and thank them when its over.

I was quoted $350 total. Bought the lamp kit from Wykoff for $148 total, installed it myself. MF switch wouldn't work, they sent another new one and then I found out that it had to have the relay installed to operate. Nothing in the instructions OR in PTDIY!! I have a base model '02 and the wiring was NOT in place.

Figured I save $250 to be used on other mods!!!!
