Default Just bought a Black 05 Touring
Just wanted to stop in & say hi. I picked it up on the 15th. All I did was tint the windows & transfer my XM radio. I was going to post earlier but wanted to clean it up a bit. I got it as good as I can but the scratches wont come out of the clear coat..GO dealership "detailing"!!I ahve ALOT of work ahead of me on teh detailing. I'm about to take it back & tell them to fix the clear. I tried to get a good pic but the pics came out "too good".
I'm not going to do much to it. A little chrome, put in my sub from the Explorer, smootie wheels( painted black, not all chrome) w/ wide whites, & a few other old school details.
I wont post huge pics just the links.
Glad to be here & share the love of this wonderful vehicle.

Dont mind the house work. I'm still fixing up from the hurricane.

Yeah, what's up with that? I'm almost 34 and still struggling to make it... yet when I got on that waiting list for my silver(don't call it gray) pt cruiser, I thought I had it made. Then U come along...just kidding!

My second PT is supposedly built and being shipped....
Just a thought - for the scratches - have you tried a clay bar? Keep it wet and rub - works wonders for me.[?]

Thank you all. Yes, black & chrome is lovely. I like it ALOT!! As for being retired. It isnt by choice. I got hurt in the military so thet retired me, so to speak. I got hurt right before I was due to get out. So intsead of medically discharging, they worked with the VA to get me 100% on the day after my seperation.
It's good pay ( plus tax free). But I would much rather be working. I have my 2 year old to keep me on my toes though.

JPMS GT, what are lances? I have come across SO many upgrades for this car. But the 2 main things i'm getting are the smothies with the WWW's & fender skirts. I have come across a few sites for PT things but not many( mainly vendors from some forums). I'm still searching though.

ptsurge, whats up with the waiting lists? I have seen ALOT of people on them. Dont they have locaters at the dealers? There are TONS of PT's here in the area. I had over 50 to choose from local dealers. Or does DC offer special customizations, that you can do. That you cant get from dealer stock.

quicksilverdon. I'm going to be trying the claybar a little later. It's supposed to rain today & the vette is taking up all the space in the garage right now. So I really dont have a covered area to work on it. I have a temp 10x20 tent in the back, but not enough room to pull it in fully.

If you look at the pic of my car, you'll see the "lances". They are the chrome lower door spears. You should know what I mean by the door spears. If you still don't, on my pic, they are underneath the dragon. Looks great on PT's. Originally I didn't think there was a need for them, but the dealership had to replace the door spears under warranty (on my old 2001 Touring edition) and gave me the chrome ones free since they didn't have the black ones in stock. I loved them! So much, that when I got my new GT, I made sure I got it with the chrome accent package including the spears! [?][8]
