Default Ok I will try here. LED questions

I had seen tons of these little gizmos at stores, and thought this would be a very cheap way to add a little accent to my car without having to spend a lot of money. I figured since the car has two 12 volt plugs in the dash why not use one of them. I would like to install two led/neon bars underneath the front driver/passenger leg areas. Any suggestions on how to remove the panel down there, and how would one hardwire the stuff to the 12 volt plug that way the plug isn't in the way, and it would come on whenever I turn on the ignition?

I haven't taken panel off, but as to wiring - one of the plugs is on all the time, the other comes on with ignition, right? Pick the ignition-switched one and pull off the wires on the back. They sell clamp-on connectors that have metal teeth that puncture insulation & make contact. Another choice is to cut wires, strip a bit, and use wire nuts. The outlet is already fused, so you should be "good to go".

at least in my 01 the lower one above the cup holder is the one that comes on with ignition, What I did was splice my two neons into one plug then, unscrewed the center console and ran the wires under it to under the seats. it looks very nice with them under the seats. good luck show us pics of how it comes out
