Recently I purchased my second used Cruiser. It's a silver 02. I'm giving some thought to removing the badge on the rear hatch when it gets warmer. What I'm wondering is - If I'm able to remover the badge, will the finish under the badge be OK or will I have to treat it with something?

My removed the rear badge on my wife's PT with waxed dental floss, then used a clay bar to get the glue from the badge off, that seemed to work pretty well. It's hard to tell unless you get up REAL close to see where it came off. You probably will need to polish or wax it afterwards. You might want to try it on a hot day in the sun so the glue will be a little soft. Just take your time in removing the badge, that will minimize the swirl marks. The silver paint should look pretty good I would think. Darker colors would probably show a fade or discoloration, with the paint under the badge being darker than the surrounding paint. http://www.msnusers.com/santacruzr/s...hoto&PhotoID=1

I waited almost 4 years before replacing my badge. When the old one came off, you couldn't tell anything had ever been there. Like Santacruzer said, silver doesn't seem to fade as much as darker colors.

I've removed all of the badges from my GT. Used a hair dryer on low setting and dental floss. Used Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover to remove the excess glue and because it has wax in it you can't tell anything has been removed. It's nice and shiny.

I removed mine with hair dryer and my fingers, than used adheisive remover. I also took the pt off the sides, Now it just says Cruiser.
The first thing that goes is the dealer badge. I have always done that.
