I talked a great girl named Karen who is the parts dept manager at my 5 Star Dealer. She advised me that her system does list the part as a "brake hardware kit" but now its superceded by a "brake pad kit" which is in the neighborhood of 150.00. She did tell me that she is going to go with me to the parts store in my town and show them what I need to order. In case you wonder where this story came from see the listing called "brake retainer clips" and read the whole drama. It boils down to me now driving with the clip bent and scraping the rotor whenever I make a hard left turn.

Man, what nightmare. I can't believe they are trying to hold you up for a whole kit. Let us know how it is resolved. I haven't had mine apart yet so I haven't seen the part, but if the dealership is putting new ones in with their kit when they do a customer's brakes, perhaps one of the techs will take pity on you and snag a couple of the takeoffs instead of junking them. Maybe the parts person could help you out with that. Just a thought.

$150 can't be right. Even if that included the pads, it's way too much. And the stock pads are made of compressed dust.
