Default Concern with Xenon body kit

Well< I got my Xenon lower side panels on and they look AWESOME!!! HOWEVER> They are installed with two screws on either side in wheel wells, the entire middle part is two way tape. Now I noticed when you get out of the car, these skirts stick out a little and you have a natural tendency to bump them when getting out of the car. Has anyone tried putting on any brackets under the car to re enforce the tapped section? Gary

Someone from another forum told me pt tuning makes a bracket for the body kit, I think I will order it, its only a matter of time before my leg bumps that thing getting out of the car. Gary

I have had mine on for over 2 1/2 years now and and I have no problems with mine coming off. The key was to make sure you wipe down the areas that you will be applying the tape to with acetone. Also, I can't remeber the temperature but the is a certain temperature range that the vehicle neeeds to be before applying. I too have kicked mine on several occasions but it has never presented a problem.

I have the brackets, to add extra support & keep it from bowing out, like I have seen on a number of pt's. I had mine done by pt pros, but i'm sure Maier at pt tuning can also take care of you. He's done allot of good work on my ride.[8)]

We've had our kit on for a couple of years, and my wife kicks it all the time. Never had a problem with it at all, other than having to remove scuff marks from her shoes EVERY time it's washed.

turbomangt, your right that is a high price from pt tuning. I guess I was lucky when PT Pros did mine. Installed Xenon kit for free & added the extra support with two way tape, brackets, & screws in the wheel wells. It fits so well everyone thinks their molded in. Good luck and hope it all works out for you.

My hot red shop made some brackets and it is more stable now. However where the molding meets the body and their is a slight gap 16th of an inch or os where water can get which might weaken the tape. someone mentioned some clear silicone I think, perhaps someone can chime in with some ideas here.
