Hey guys, my wife and I just purchased a 2005 GT Cruiser, I'm new to this site. I'm trying to find out what I can and can't do as fars a mods. We opted for the 7yr/70,000 bumper to bumper so I don't want to do anything that may void my warranty. I did a search, didn't really find nothing.
Thanks Mike |

Welcome to the forum, Mike.
When it comes to MODS for the PT Cruiser there is no limit! [8D] Recommend that you use the search feature on this site to locate a wealth of information which should help give you some ideas. Good luck. [8]

Welcome to this forum.I agree with Hooligan on the hood struts.
Not sure what you have in mind for mods.Dealer has to prove that what you added caused the problem. Get hood struts here http://home.pcmagic.net/blajess/

Most interior and exterior items will not void anything. Some have run across dealers that use any excuse, so the best person to ask is your dealer. Minor intake and exhaust changes should be okay, and most have not had problems with lowering or big wheels, although a couple have. Bumping up HP with stage 1, a turbo or supercharger will likely cause difficulty.

I would say look at the mods people have here and then use the Ole MOPAR catalog and find out how much a person can charge for the mods. All cosmetic mods should only void the warranty that comes with the part you replace. A rule of thumb is don't cut electrical lines if you want a warrantee. Air intakes are usually pretty safe a long as the manufacturer either has his own warrantee or gurarantees his intake system meets OEM specs as far as filtration. Suspension mods are pretty safe as long as the springs dont drop the car past safe limits around an inch and a half. Keep tire size in line with limited wheel offsets over stock and all should be OK. Engine mods should be covered as long as there are no cause and effect between what you modify and the engine failure you suffer. Rule of thumb, dont mess with the computer or try and trick it if you want your warrantee. Exhausts are pretty safe as long as U keep a catalyst in the system. Piping for the turbo can be modded as long as U dont go wild on the sizing. You may want to talk to the stealer of your choice and find out what they say which is a lot more important than what I say. Good Luck! [8)]
