There's a rattle in my dashboard. When moving it's not noticeable. Nor can it be heard if the Cruiser is in park. But at a light or stop sign, it's truely annoying. My initial guess is that it has to do with the fan. Cranking the fan up the whole way drowns out the rattle. So does a loud radio, for that matter. Outside of those alternatives, I wonder if there is anything I might be able to doshort of taking the dashboard apart to see if it is indeed the fan.
Anybody had something like this or an easy idea that I can try? Thanks |

If you turn the fan off, it stops? That would be proof. Puzzling it doesn't do it if in park, leading me to think it may not be fan....
Suggestion - remove the "cowl" - 2 plastic halves at base of windshield by wiper blades and see if a acorn, etc, didn't find it's way in there. [:I]

Thanks for the response, Quicksilverdon
I'll check the "cowl" this weekend. Even when the fan is "off" I still think it runs a bit, doesn't it? My feeling is that this "rattle" is responsive to the motor vibration. When moving there's a more rapid vibration and it doesn't set the rattle off. In park, also, the vibration is different and it doesn't make it happen. However, when in gear and holding the Cruiser at a light or stop sign, that slight vibration creates the dashboard rattle. The rattle seems to be more like the fan catching on something. This isn't a big thing - it's not life threatening or anything. But it gets annoying. It's like a little cinder in your shoe, You know what I mean? By the way, What kind of fan is it anyway? One of those squirrel cage things, or something else? And, can you get to it easily? These are things I wonder about when sitting at a light or stop sign and trying not to get bugged by this "rattle." Any thoughts or insight would be helpful |

When you have the fan set to 0 - between blue & red - it is stopped.
I don't know how to get at the fan, sorry.[:I] |
