Default Another timing belt question thread :) ???

Can someone give me some advice on what else beisde the timing belt do I have to chnage while I'm at it?

I have went thought google and most of this forum and find that it should be an good idea to replace the water pump too but at only 70,000miles is it neccesary?

I know I'll need to replace the belt again at 130,000 so should I do it now. I know dodge water pump ain't the best but is it too early?

Also While I was looking for timing belt online I ran into timing belt tensioners. Should I replace that part also?

I have found the price for all the parts let me know if they're right....Thanks

1)Timing belt-$40 (should I get the OEM one or cheaper$aftermarket)
2)Timing belt tensioner-$70(do I need it?)
3)Water pump- don't know shouldn't be more than $80

While you're doing water pump, I'd do thermostat.

Look water pumps and tensioners and thermos and hoses and belts are all pretty unpredictable. I have put on new/rebuilt units and next day had problems and I have left them on and they lasted another 60,000 miles or sometimes till I sell at another 100,000 miles. I have checked them and found the old ones good and the next week they went bad. I would check everything exept belts and hoses for wear and good working condition and NOT replace unless I had better than OEM parts to replace them with. Belts and hoses I think the OEM's are good for 90,000 miles and if you want to be super safe replace with best ones you can find at 60,000 miles. I do like Goodyear Gator belts and High mileage hoses. And for my 2 cents, never buy rebuilt or cheap parts; very bad investments.
