At 30K miles changed my plugs and wires because of missing during normal driving. Now during normal driving and any type of acceleration the car does fine but if I let of the gas a little, I feel a miss or jerking action. Do I still have a problem with plugs? I'm running the stock Champs and Mopar High Performance wires on my 04 Turbo Le.
Thanks for the help! |

Are you sure it's not the transmission? That's what I would suspect.

There is a bit of driveline lash in FWD cars. This is most noticable on manual trans cars when changing from very light accel to very light decel. The engine/trans shifts from tension in one direction to tension in the other. There is also a small amount of final gear lash. Is this what you are feeling?

Agree with others - one long shot - what'd you set gap at? 0.042 is what I think they say for GT - I say long shot, because you say it's fine accelerating....[:I]

The plugs are gapped at 0.45. I tried .040 but my girl ran like crap. I sure hope it's not the tranny. I'm leaving southern Missouri in a week and heading for the Grand Canyon[8D]. I'll try regapping the plugs back to the original 0.50 and see if that corrects the problem. If it's the tranny, I'll probably find out in some desolate area of Utah or Arizona.[xx(]
Thanks for the pointers. |

I am pretty sure it is not the plugs (because under load it does not miss) but if you want a fail safe test put in some NGK Iridiums and if you still have that hesitation look elsewhere.
