well one point is you don't have to worry about losing a 120.00 key. you can add a remote starter a bit easier. and for those that worry about hot wiring a the car i still maintain a tow truck just doesn't need the key. if someone wants your car it is gone special key or not. and besides if that transponer key is so well known among car thiefs then will they really know if you have bypassed the anti-theft feature anyway? yea there is always the kid on the block that can hot wire it but then is it really that safe at all.

1393 quarterline rd. muskegon you figure out the state dumby you must be as paranoid as they come. do you watch it takes a thieft? i suppose you put a paddle lock on the mail box also.
like i have said before you can put your car in your bedroom and if someone wants it they will get past you in your sleep. kinda like passing a motor cycle you only pass them because they let you pass them. |

I wouldn't do what you want to do. If you want a remote starter, get the DC system. It intergrates with your factory SKIM and alarm. I agree, it will make you car a hell of a lot easier to steal. And by the way, alot of cars are stolen by "non-professional" car thieves looking for a joy rides, not some very expensive import to ship overseas or "chop up". If you're going to do that, leave you dors unlocked every night because that is what you're basically doing. Don't make it easier for them. The door is easy enough to open. I can open a door with a cloths hanger in about 15 seconds. And don't argue with me about this, I've done it a couple of times I left my keys in the car. Learned my lesson and got a copy. If you're concerned about the originals, by some blanks on ebay (about $20 shipped), take it to a good hardware store and have them cut it, and program it yourself in your car. Easy as cake.

FYI to the Turbo owners who may plan on getting a Stage 1 kit. You may have to get your new PCM coded to your key also. They warned me about it when I got mine but fortunately my key worked.

Nope, they told you wrong. The P0633 code indicates a missing SKIM, because it's not programmed to match the key, but you will still be unable to turn on your car without a transponder key. I've tried it before with a regular copy. The car started, shut off after 2 seconds, and would not turn over again at all, no matter how many times I tried it, until I used an original transponder key. After that, it turned on with no problems, but gave me a code indicating that a non-transponder key was used.
