I've never had anyone in my Cruiser, that had trouble with the door handle... Now, the hood prop, that's a problem. I had a 20 simething nephew, that closed the hood on the prop...[xx(]
Soon after that, I installed the hood struts, and removed the prop, I will not have that problem again!

Having Blane's hood struts doesn't always keep your hood safe though either. I took my car in for an oil change one day and my normal service guy(who knows I have hood struts) was busy so he had another person take care of me. This guy popped the hood and assuming there wasn't hood struts jerked it open really hard. I thought he was going to rip the bolts right out of the strut assembly. This was all before I could yell out I've got hood struts!! So you're never really safe. The putz!!!

Are you kidding?

The PT is a retro design.
That's the way all cars were before Ralph Nader got involved with the Corvair.

It's a retro design, not a "cheap" feature.

I would guess that anyone who keeps pulling on it are well under 40 years old or cannot remember Woodstock.
well, she is over 40, but i don't think she was at woodstock. and she did pull on it.

I'm sure everyone of you have someone who have problem opening the PT door. many smart people who just can't seem to get that the door handle on the PT is different would just keep pulling on it sometimes real hard until you told them stop.

It just hurts me too see sometimes that they pull on the handle so hard that the thin sheet metal would flex. I know one day that fake chome plastic piece would get ripped out.

why did chrysler did that handle anyway a simple pull and open was bossible in that shape n would be fine. n it wasn't that good of a handle anyway the moment you press on the button you can feel the 1st cheapness of the car.

people who ride in my car including me have to learn things over like the window buttons etc....just not right

My Grandson had the problem because he was too young to be able to pull and push at same time. He outgrew that problem by age 5!!

I would think the retro look is the reason most people like the PT handels included. I have never liked the little sliver flush handels. Talk about cheap I had to replace those type a few times. They get brittle an break off. The only reason I can think of that you couldn't figure out the handels on a PT is if your blood achole level is to High.[8D]

Are you talking about the outside handle??? I don't think it's plastic, and it feels good to me. The inside handle is pretty standard, but I like real handles on the outside.

And CTown, I've owned imports. For what the PT costs, it's comparable. It isn't a Mercedes, but doesn't cost what a Mercedes does. Slam the door on a Civic and compare it to a PT - the PT sounds better. I recently had a new Civic as a loaner - I wasn't impressed, and they can easily outcost a PT.
