CTown, have you posted about something you LIKE? I love the handles, and have had no problems with anyone not being able to open them.

Obviously Ctown either hasn't spent as much time around cars as he claims or he's trying to start something. There is nothing wrong with the PT Cruiser door handles. They are certainly copies of door handles that many of us remember from our youth and definately fit the retro style of the Cruiser. It doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to figure out how they work them, and no, I've never had anyone have trouble opening a door. As for the fit and finish of a PT Cruiser, I'd challenge anyone to find another vehicle in the same price range that is better. The PT Cruiser is well made and solid.

I think Chrysler did an outstanding job with the doors, period. The handles have a good feeling about them, and the doors open and close smoothly and solidly. Learning where the window switches are, get over it.

HEY... I'm a Rocket Signtist... and I've never had a problem with my door handles.

In fact, I was wondering if this whole thread was a joke or something, I mean, this can't be serious! [)]

Over 40,000 miles and very few problems and still it feels rock solid and few squeeks aside from the leather seats. If I can complain about squeeky leather than everything else must be put together pretty well!!

Door handles are almost identical to the ones I had on my '55 Chevy, and I haven't forgotten how to open them

my two cents. i have never had any problems opening the doors. and all the people that ride in my cruiser, from little kids to the in-laws, don't seem to have any problems either. think they look great and are easy to use.

as for the quality, i have always thought they were good, but not the best handles ever made. at least on mine, each handle requires a different amount of pressure and has a different feel when the latch releases. but its a minor thing. they have all been checked and are fine, and have always worked well, so no need to complain!

compared to some other current cars (including a friends toyota matrix), the cruiser seems very solid and well made...

Glad to see that I'm not the only one with the door handle problem. I'm old enough to have been at Woodstock (I've got the album somewhere). I'll get out of the Honda, which has a pull handle, go to get in the Cruiser and invariably pull on the handle. Especially if my mind is preoccupied. I don't think I've owned a vehicle with a pushbutton handle since my '68 Falcon.

I'm still around I'm not bashing the PT I was just wondering if u guy have the same problem as me nothing wrong with that.

Kinda surprise how many of you reply to this thread

People do get so use to those typical handles that their mind just can't seem to switch modes when trying to open the PT door

I have the early 2001 model so the interior is full of hard plastic trims. I know some of u guys have like GTs and Convertible models which have better interior trim.
