Default Other people and the poor PT door handle

I'm sure everyone of you have someone who have problem opening the PT door. many smart people who just can't seem to get that the door handle on the PT is different would just keep pulling on it sometimes real hard until you told them stop.

It just hurts me too see sometimes that they pull on the handle so hard that the thin sheet metal would flex. I know one day that fake chome plastic piece would get ripped out.

why did chrysler did that handle anyway a simple pull and open was bossible in that shape n would be fine. n it wasn't that good of a handle anyway the moment you press on the button you can feel the 1st cheapness of the car.

people who ride in my car including me have to learn things over like the window buttons etc....just not right

Are you kidding?

The PT is a retro design.
That's the way all cars were before Ralph Nader got involved with the Corvair.

It's a retro design, not a "cheap" feature.

I would guess that anyone who keeps pulling on it are well under 40 years old or cannot remember Woodstock.

Sorry to say they all passed there #45 most years 20s people are the one that get it the quickest.

The thing about the handle is that it's not a cheap design it the material they use the and assembly makes it feel cheap when you press on it. I"m a car nuts and I play around with alot of cars from all over the world. The PT is cheap in fit and finish bottom line. I know some of you let say got a japanese or european car before can tell the difference Just don't compare your PT to like a GMC track of course it feel expensive

I have got to agree with MX-5 on this one. I don't think its cheap in anyway at all. Personally I have never seen anyone pull so hard that I could see the sheet metal flexing. Whats so hard about pushing the button in, the button is visable, use it.

This is the first time I have heard anyone say this about a PT. No way do I agree. As far as door opening problems, I've never seen anyone have ANY problems with the door. I'd hate to see the gorilla that was yanking on the door hard enough to flex the sheet metal. I'd wonder how smart they are if they don't know to push a button that is in plain sight.

My .02 cents. Your mileage may vary, see dealer for details.....

I agree with bigdogdad, I've never had anyone pull on my door handles.Even younger people. Please! My gripe comes when they close the door by the pillar and get they're greasy finger prints all over the black pillar. I close the door by that beautiful chrome handle. There by keeping the black pillar clean and nice looking.

the only one to pull on my door handles has been my mom, who is in her 50's.
