Default First oil change

Ok, I bought my 04 pt one year ago, but it only has 2700 miles on it. I'm taking it in for its first oil change. Any recommendations? Mobile 1? something better? or does it matter?[:I] Thanks in advance for your help[^].............mike

Mobile 1 5W-30 if the temperature in your area never gets above 100 degrees. 10W-30 if it does. There are many opinions about filters. Personally, I like Purolator Pure One.

I would think you need some kind of synthetic oil. Right now with your low mileage you need to keep the insides of the engine coated.

First oil change should have been at 1000 miles (after breakin).

I only use Mobil-1 oil filters with Mobil-1 oil.

The filters can
only be bought at AutoZone for abut $11- each.

The oil can be bought almost anywhere, but is cheapest in the 5 quart jugs at Wal-Mart.

It matters. Go w/Mobil 1. As to filters, stay away from Fram - Purolator Pure 1s are good, Mobil1s are excellent and K&N (Advance Auto) are excellent and not quite as pricey as Mobil1s.
Really shouldn't go more than 6mos without changing oil, but Mobil1 will help with that.

Did you know that the super Tech walMart filters are the same as Mobile-1 filters( Made by Champion Labs) . They can be bought at Wal-Mart for $3(or under). If you cut them open, you cant tell which is which.
Just thought I'd let ya know.

Don't forget to pick up a filter wrench, if you don't already have one. The first filter removal is tough!
