Default Thinkin about getting this Used GT Convert

Right now I currently Drive a 02 Limited Edition PT Cruiser but ive found a nice 05 GT Cruiser (turbocharged) Convertible for sale used at a chrysler dealership for only $20,000. Theyre usually like 29K and this one is cheap.. but the only problem is that it has over 27K Miles, and ive ran it thru carfax.. it was a rental car.. go figure. But Should i get it or not.. I know some of you may not like it.. my mom hates it w/ the top on but she loves it w/ the top down.. soo help?

heres some pics - btw i hate the rims on the convert.. gonan switch my current wheels on that convert if i get it...

This is what i currently drive.

Stop It Your makeing my mouth water! I love the PT Convertables Plus it's a Turbo. You live in Florida, perfect place to enjoy a convertable, it's only 20 Grand maybe and it a O5. If you got the cash. Wait and you single, that's car is a chick magnet. U B Cruizin. It's hard to pass that one up. My 2 cents.[8D][8)]

I agree w/Stirfry. Life is to short. Haggle with dealer to either get top$ for yours or for them to come down from $20K - they will.

Trading up to a GT Convertible is a great step. But I be a little concern with a rental car. They are always on the road and the maintence is not the best. A lot of people abuse rentals. If you look on Ebay you might get a just a good deal on a new one.

You could get the dealer to come down from 20k. My .02 is qoute him a price-say 18,500 and do not haggle, let him play his games for tem minutes or so and be willing to walk out. Come back in 2 or 3 days and go at it again.

option 2- tell him you will pay his 20k but you want it as an out the door price. I.E. taxes, lic., reg., and to include an extended warranty of 7\70 or something similar.

I also bought an 05 vert turbo used and it was a rental w\ 17,500 miles-I paid less than 20k and I used a combo of my two used car sales options. I offered 18,000 and they wouldn't go for it-they had new 18" rims and tires and said they would take them off, put on stock ones and we had a deal.-But I liked the rims! Came back two days later offered a different agent 19K and drove my new vert home that day. Hope this helps.

I love the verts. But the only problem to me is the trunk. It is HORRIBLE how they have it set up. If it opened from the top( like a rumble seat) instead of flipping up & having to craw underneath it to get to the trunk, I would have bought one.

i agree with the others, go for it! looks great! also agree with purple people eater to try to get the price down, try to get more for the 20K, or get more for a trade. be sure to check the warranty, you do take a risk not knowing how the car was broken in for the first 1K miles, and knowing that people tend to drive rentals like they stole them. if they won't budge from the price, try to get them to throw in the warranty they will eventually want to sell you.... good luck! i would love to find a deal like this for my wife's next car!

I used to work for a rental company. That 27k miles was not always properly driven miles. I'd pass.

Yes ducking under has its drawbacks and I considered having it reversed but then you can't realy reach in to get anything either. Though it doesn't have the room of the 4door, we still have enough room for three and still be able to pack for a three day show even with the subwoofer mounted back there.
