Seen this mentioned. What is it and what does it do? Tried the history search and got a lot of "can" key words. If this has been addressed-please repost.

A catch can is just that. It catches things. Mostly for coolant( coolant overflow bottle, is a catch can).

Traps oil vapors that would normally go into intake - the purpose it to reduce buildup of crud in intake.
