I just purchased a 2002 PT Limited with 35,000 miles. I was driving a 1998 Chrysler Sebring CPE. I was tired of sitting on the road. I love how the PT drives and feels. I also like how you sit up off the road. I'm posting this to see if anyone knows how to get more power out of the standard 2.4L engine. I need more juice and couldn't afford a Turbo model. Any help would be great!!

Welcome! There are a number of expensive ways to add more power. There are turbo and supercharger kits. By the time you've put them on, you will spend almost as much as the difference between your used NA and a used turbo. If you have a manual transmission, try shifting later. This is a dual overhead cam (DOHC) 4 cylinder motor. It starts pulling over 3000RPM amd the real power is around 4000 and up. If you are shifting at 3000, try shifting at 3500.
Make sure your tires are inflated and the alignment is set. Many have reported intakes and exhaust systems help.

Welcome.
I had an'02 for 87,000 miles and loved every mile. You won't get it to be quick, but at the expense of more noise, an intake and exhaust will help. For intake, a K&N replacement air filter (Advance Auto has them) and taking out a small, white plastic tube in the intake box is the cheapest, ranging up to a K&N FIPK intake - which replaces most of the intake. For exhaust, a single will get you as much benefit as duals, just be sure to look for a flow-thru design. The BTGs I have you can hold up and look thru - that's flow -thru! ![]() The platinum plugs and Crane wires (RaceAndStreet.Com) are good ideas, but won't boost pep unless the stock ones have deteriorated, but is a wise maintenance item so you won't have troubles. I also recommend Mobil1 oil - it really is better - it reduces friction for a tiny bit more pep and mileage and protects better. Enjoy.
