Vibration between 40 & 60 mph???? anyone had this?

Hey Guys
My PT GT 5 spd 2004 has developed an annoying vibration
between 40 & 60 mph anyone had this
problem or have any idea what it could be??

Is the vibration in the steering wheel?

Most likely wheels/tires. Start by having a good balance - might have lost a weight. inspect the tires carefully - the Good-for-a-Years have been known to have ply eparation. You didn't just rotate tires, did you? If so, rotate back - that'll prove/rule out tires.

Tires were just checked for balance all OK
I forgot to note that it only seems to happen when
in gear seems like it anyway????

If that's true, could be a drive halfshaft -you're under warranty, right? Take it to dealer & have it checked out.

Common, no. A few reports, yes.

There have been some posts about the stock Goodyears causing your problem. Also a lot of us have encountered potholes to negative effects.[:0]

IMHO the first thing to look at is the way the tires were balanced. I had mine done 3 times by various shops after the dealership put on a new wheel for me. They were using the rim mount weights. Goodyear finally sent me to a America's Tire store. They reconized the problem immediately and rebalance the wheel using the weights that stick on the interior arch of the wheel. Problem solved.

I had the exact same problem.
I rotated the tires and it got worst.

When they where at the balancing machine, I noticed the threads going up and down... I asked the tech. He replied they are good, "it is an ilusion on the threads when they rotate..."

I didn't like the response... This month, I installed four new tires, all is smooth all the way to 126.... jejeje.

I bought BFG G-force KDW tires. AA Traction, A Temp, 320 Threadwear...

I too, had the exact same vibration.

Rotated and re-balanced tires and it is gone. I can drive down straight road with hand off the wheel again.
