I just got my upgraded wastegate and boost controller working without setting off the check light, but noticed that the BOV (I have the forge) started fluttering under boost. PCM maybe?? So I put the next stronger spring in it. I went out for test drive and immediately the check light went off, but instead of a 1188 code I was getting for overboost, now I'm getting P0443 code. Purge valve control circuit. Does anyone know if this code is because the PCM cannot lower boost by opening the blow off valve becuase of the stronger spring I installed?? It does blow off when I release the gas for shifting so the BOV is still working correctly, but probably not as much as it did before. Any thoughts...

I checked my books and acording to the DC Manual, the P0443 code is not the BOV or anything to do with the turbo directly.
It is an Evaporative emission purge Valve. It is located close to the AC "tie-down-bolts" and bellow the Cruise control valve. here is the operational description from the manual: "All vehicles use a proportional purge solenoid (Fig. 2). The solenoid regulates the rate of vapor flow from the EVAP canister to the throttle body. The PCM operates the solenoid. During the cold start warm-up period and the hot start time delay, the PCM does not energize the solenoid. When de-energized, no vapors are purged. The proportional purge solenoid operates at a frequency of 200 hz and is controlled by an engine controller circuit that senses the current being applied to the proportional purge solenoid and then adjusts that current to achieve the desired purge flow. The proportional purge solenoid controls the purge rate of fuel vapors from the vapor canister and fuel tank to the engine intake manifold." here are the removal steps: REMOVAL - 2.4L TURBO (1) Disconnect the negative battery cable. (2) Remove solenoid from mounting bracket by pressing tab and pulling of the solenoid from bracket (Fig. 3). (3) Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector from the purge solenoid (Fig. 4). (4) Remove the 2 vacuum lines (Fig. 4). (5) Remove solenoid. Hope this helps. Ian

Yes it didn't really sound like anything to with the turbo but I changed the BOV spring and then got the code so I figured I ask. I changed the spring back but still got the code. So what you are saying is that I probably have a bad soleniod?? Oh boy, now I get to take off my WGA and boost controller so I can get it covered under warranty!! ye ha........@#$%$^$#@#[xx(]

I did the same thing because I had a a P0554, Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Intermittent code.
The funny thing is that this stupid sensor in the Steering gear causes the engine to fluctuate rpm in idle... even the Power steering affects the engine. I checked it and it had a drop of PS fluid inside the conector contacts causing it to send false readings. It is a small sensor and should be cheap, but i want it fixed under waranty... So this means, don't give them any reason for them to deny waranty repair. Ian

Well, I disconnected battery overnight, checked gas cap, and took soleniod # 2 completely out of the boost control loop and NO problems yet. Only boosting to 14.5 now and will keep it there untill I'm sure I've solved the problem.

That code is contagious!!!
After I replied to this post, my "check engine" came on and the P0443 code was there! anyway, the car is going to the shop for other repairs, so I will add it to the list. Ian
