Default Shift Cable Replacement

During the install of a Hurst STS, one of my shift cables broke (the metal sleeve connected to the mounting came loose, resulting in a "kinked" cable--losing 2nd and 4th gears).

My question is, has anyone replaced the shift cables (they come in a pair) and how difficult was it? The hardest part looks to be routing the cables through the firewall, especially due to the cramped engine compartment. Anybody try this yet?

I have the Hurst STS, with booger bushings. I snapped my cable right off at the eyelet by the right side of the shifter. Take off the heat shield over the cat and exhaust. Everything is right there. It is not a bad job. I rate it below the Mopar Rice Plate in the difficulty rating scale.
