Default 2006 PT GT Autostick

I sold my 2002 LE (150hp) and just got a new 2006 PT GT. (1) Does anyone know what mod(s) Chrysler made to get the extra 10 hp (220 to 230)? (2) In my 2002 I used a drop-in K&N filter and drilled about 6 3/4" holes in the bottom of the air box, I noticed an increase in performance and mileage (and sound). But now with the Turbo, should I do the same thing or remove the box and go with the configuraion of something like an Air Raid?
This will probably be the only mod other than using syn oil. Really what I'm looking for is some experienced advice on improving the performance and mileage and to get the "Biggest Bang for the BUCK".
Thanks for any advice.

I too tried the holes in the bottom of the box idea. I have a temp sensor mounted in my airbox and that was a real bad idea. Ultimately I sealed it back up and then installed a direct feed to the bottom of the box from the front facia. This solved the "hot box" problem. The intake air is cooler than either stock or the holes solution. Don't look for any "ram air" bs just cooler air and my turbo likes cool air.

Best thing to do IMHO is to remove the silencer in the top of the box, drop in a K&N, replace the airbox to turbo pipe to get rid of the restriction there and get a hard pipe for the IC to turbo pipe. There are a couple available from different vendors. Oh, and stage 1 if it ever comes available from Mopar.

Yeah, forget about a hot engine air intake. Modify the airbox and get a K&N drop in filter. Get rid of the two silencers in the box and replace the turbo to airbox pipe. That pipe has a silencer in it that narrows down to 1 1/2".

Correct. Remember, it's less than a 5% gain...
As to intake - cooler IS better, no question. More air is also better, and I got a deal off a Forum member on a FIPK and went with that for better flow. It has a heat shield, but no question that when stopped I'm getting warmer air, but I figure once I start moving....
If I were you, remove silencers, K&N drop-in & get a true flow-thru exhaust (Cat-back) with money saved on intake. Less back pressure is good for a turbo, too.[?]

Thanks, for the info. After I get the 06 PT GT broken-in, I will probably go with the AMX 1397 pipe and the drop in filter. Is their another pipe besides the AMX that you would recommend?
