hi all -
this may be a sore subject, but - just curious what fellow turbo-only owners are getting in the miles per gallon category (city and freeway). please be honest.

I have traveled 27,847 miles on my '03 GT PT Cruiser and burned 1,416.39 galons of gasoline. So my average MPG is 19.66 MPG.
I always look at two or three mileage readings together when assessing my mileage. If I don't quite fill the tank before a trip and maybe over-fill it after a trip, it can give the impression of much lower gas mileage than actual, and visa-versa. My 2003 GT has 33,000 miles on it and it is my daily driver. Most of my driving is stop and go in heavy suburban commuter traffic. I tend to be a lead-foot with jack-rabbit starts. Usually when I hit the open highway I drive 70 to 80 MPH. My best tank so far was 27.4 MPG during a long trip from Virginia to Maine and back. During that trip the fill ups showed: 25.8 21.4 27.4 20.4 22.5 22.7 That trip averaged 23.4 MPG. I almost always use 93 oct. gas. During the trip listed above, the 22.7 MPG trip was on 89 octane, the rest were with 93 octane. Notice that the 27.4 MPG trip is followed by a 20.4 MPG trip. This suggests that when I filled the tank after the 27.4 MPG I didn't fill it all the way giving a false high MPG. For this reason I think the average 23.4 MPG is more accurate. Joe PS: Some people may note that I had previously posted a message with worse mileage than this. That's because I overlooked the trip listed above.

I only have 2200 miles on mine but my mpg is around 20. I also drive in the worse conditions imaginable - Bay Area, CA.

32,000 + on my 04 PT GT and I average about 19-20 in mixed driving. On a longer trip I can get upwards of 23-26.....

In my 2004 LE Turbo I get around 22 in town but about 29 on the highway. We took a trip to Arizona this spring and I averaged 29.6 crossing Kansas.
I use a K&N drop-in air filter, I've removed my airbox silencers, use Mobil1 SuperSyn oil and K&N oil filter, Michelin HydroEdge tires with 38 lbs. of pressure and NGK iridium plugs with Mopar HiPerf wires. |

thanks to all who responded!!![^]
i have a k&n filter and removed the air box sliencer - and i'm getting about 16 mpg in traffic. i'm hoping this mileage figure will improve over time, as the previous owner drove only 2-4 miles a day. maybe the cpu needs re-calcuate itself? doesn't the main cpu auto-adjust to driving conditions -every few hundred miles?[8)]

Just unhook your battery for a few minutes, this will set everything back to normal. Now just drive they way you normally do and it will learn "you". As far as better gas mileage, maybe one or two but the Cruiser will always be fun no matter what.!

a little late...been over at the Motor Trend Forums. 05 GT with autostick, 7500 miles(bought it July 4th..like to drive!). in town 19-20mpg, not babying it(in Phoenix, the speed limit can get you run over, you have to be 11 or more over to get any ticket)
Highway? 24-26mpg...usually at 85 minimum.
